Apr 04th - 07:46 | As much as I am loath to to things like this, yes, this is a shameless attempt to get myself rewards in another game, yes I am posting my referral link for the sake of a possibly four or five referrals. First things first: It's one big anime/pop culture reference. Majoritarily (no, that isn't a word) based on Naruto, since that IS the main theme of the game. Two large subsections are based on Bleach, two equally large subsections are based half around Naruto, half game related lore, one large part based on Death Note, and now a whole slew of new awesome things related to .hack just got added in. Since they're amazingly hard, I'm trying to get more referrals and become strong enough to even hope to attempt the r00t content, which is why as much as I hate doing it I'm posting here.
So uh, if you've made it this far, if you do sign up please do me the favor of making it to at least Chunin rank. That's what I need to get the referral point, and at that point you can also join the Immortal Realm village I'm in and get extra help. We're not exactly the best yet, and I'm not exactly important to the village, but most of the SUPER AWESOME FULLY UPGRADED villages are filled to the brim with people wanting to attempt the new content, so you're better off in a medium sized village really.
I'm debating making a nice ad for Project Wonderful and putting it on here and anywhere else that seems profitable, but my photoshop skills are horrible and I'm hoping to find someone on the game's forums who has a nice one I can borrow.

04/04/2009 21:53 | Wow. This game has 125 players logged in. The layout is a fucking mess, I actually got a headache from it. At the end of the day I saved four villages, forgot my insignia (?) twice and got like 10 hobos following me. I got sexy jutsu but it wouldn't let me change my avatar into a big-breasted woman so I was sad. Also I joined someone's village and spammed them.

What saddens me is that this has 125 people logged in right now which means it probably has like 2,000 players, and since I only need 500 subscribers to MonBre to survive off it, I wonder if all this time I should've made a naruto ninja game.

04/04/2009 22:53 | I have no clue how many actual players there are, but every person is allowed three characters. So, keep that in mind when considering number of players. As far as the layout goes, yeah, and the buttons were even uglier before. Neon gradients, yay! I think now that all the major changes since the gigantic recode in february-ish, layout has started to take priority as there's been a few polls about button styles and such.
At first I had no idea what you were talking about with all that stuff, but I assume you're talking about the mission texts?
Feel free to post something about the game on the forums there. It's mostly got all the high level players and the other people who have a clue, and then a couple dozen clueless noobs who wander over to try and make some ridiculous trade or something. But it could be worth a shot, although if I remember right I think you needed to be chunin or higher in order to sign up for the forums, in an attempt to cut down on the idiots. Not sure though.
Would you be able to play for a few days until I see that I got the referral for sure? I'm not quite sure if it's the day after or what, but it seemed to take a bit after my friends got there for me to get anything from it, but that was intentional to make things harder for people back when you could get instant stamina from referrals.
I had pretty great luck on the wheel right after I signed up, managed to get super-rare twice... And haven't gotten anything worth keeping since. Woo.

04/04/2009 23:39 | When I read Naruto I stopped reading...not exactly, I read the whole thing through, but failed to attract me. Not that it may or may not be a good game, but I try to keep Anime/Manga away from me...as far as possible.
The only thing that got through me was Fullmetal Alchemist

04/05/2009 10:27 | Lol, Naruto is still going, so I'd be surprised if you had finished reading it XD You probably wouldn't enjoy it if you don't like anime/manga, I don't think the occasional reference to bands and stuff would keep you interested. And on that topic, all the Bleach people are described as being metalheads (hence the swords and all black clothing), and so their jutsu are all related to bands. And then eventually it comes back to quests, like having to use a Dragonforce related one to pass a quest, etc.
Alright, maybe I'm the only one who enjoys that.
No need to keep playing if you don't like it, I'll give you the go ahead when you can quit, lol. I don't think there's really anything worth copying, MonBre isn't really a reference based game like it is anyway. Maybe the whole idea of big boss monsters attacking cities, but that's about the only thing I can think of that might work here.

I have an extremely fluid to do list with which I try to schedule my free time, just so I can forget about that game I bought last week and instead sit on MonBre all day and feel guilty about it instead of enjoying it.
Death Note is in there, but it's vaguely hidden. You need to "bingo" people, which in Naruto terms kinda equates to assassinate them. Note pages (i.e. Death Note pages) are instant kill unless they're protected from them. After doing that for a while, Hyuk (should be an obvious reference if you know Death Note) will notice you, and then after that you get more Death Note related allies and more bingo related powers.
It's not as much part of the game as Bleach and Naruto are, and now .hack too. But technically it is there >.>

04/09/2009 11:01 | Well I just did a quiz about completely stupid, childish, irrelevant info. Half the answers were 4chan memes that I'm sure the creators have no idea the origin of, and the other half were "LROLFO KNIFE NINJA XD"
I used emosuke (emo's so funneh!) and I cheated for the answers.
I have to do a mission or something, now? I got the scroll, I beat a ninja, something like that. I'll pass the test tomorrow I guess.

04/09/2009 15:53 | Yeah, I wasn't sure if that stupid quest was for chunin or jonin. The usual strategy is to cheat with Billy to eliminate one of the wrong answers, since it's actually completely random.
People suggested that it be removed for being stupid, pointless, and irritating, but the decision was made that everyone hated the old long tutorial and until more awesome new content was done, the crappy quiz would stay.
It's... kinda a reference to Naruto, where for the chunin exam there were totally ridiculous questions that everyone cheated for, and the goal was not to get the answers right but to be stealthy with your cheating. If I remember right, there were people with the right answers hidden in with the students, too. The old one was more obvious, and less stupid. I swear. The forest of death is all Naruto, though. Two different scrolls, each time had one, and needed to reach the tower in the middle of the forest with both scrolls.
