May 22nd - 09:05 | This update focuses mostly on balancing and redoing things to "tighten the ship" of MonBre. Or... something. We also have a new Twitter to display patch notes that have not happened yet. Front page, follow if you want.
Money Balancing The "common equips" drop less now, and are worth slightly less. --- Gameplay Balancing Splicing has been balanced a bit more. I also updated the reference. All changes were around the idea of stopping the immense fluctuation of stats. There was also a slight nerf for the super-high monsters, explained in the reference. --- Combat Balancing Health and mood will now give you an extra buff in battle. The reasoning is that your monsters are inspired by how much enthusiasm you have. Health is worth more because people splice themselves and stuff. The buff comes after everything, including equips - so it is quite the buff. And it's dynamic.
Speed now matters more in battle - if you are higher than the opponent's speed, you get a free attack for 1/2 your total speed stat. (direct damage) They can do this to you also!
Buffs are now done out of battle! This also enables me to easily make the monsters heal themselves out of battle, which will come when hospitals come.
Mobs now have a 20% chance (up from 13%) to do an ability. Gods now have a 30% chance. (up from 20%) This makes fighting harder. Gods also no longer display levels.
If you have over 25x your cpower's worth in SRP, you now must spend it before receiving more SRP. ---
Quests There's a new quest for some SRP Capsules + experience in Sequia.
Raiding Not many people (read: 27 total) were joining raids, so now it is possible for people to join in on any raid. On home, there is a link to see which ones you need to defeat. Reference has been updated, and since raids will now be easier, to get a crappy equip you need 4 people, and 8 people for a good one. Also equips now drop 30% of the time, as opposed to 60%.
PvP has been redesigned. It's a lot better now. The reference for it has been updated. Send me a challenge. Further adjustments will be taken soon to allow speed to matter more in PvP.
The exploring SRP and PvE pages now match the exploring style, and PvE in particular has been more modernized. C-power now shows on the SRP pages and the mail icon will light up if you have new mail. (in exploring)
Evolving is a lot cooler now, it'll post a picture of your newly evolved monster and even tell you what ability they just received.
Moon rocks now have a chance to drop in battle if you don't have one. In the training center, the reward has been changed to a measley 50 TP. This is because everyone should be experiencing the quest associated with it.
The notifications in home (except raids) are now a lot sexier. Expect more of this.
Mob drawings! Sledge Wielder drew us a gargoyle and a mote. I drew us an elemental kichu. We now have sprites of lesser + regular fire elemental.
Obviously the banner was changed so "locale" (uncommon word) was changed to city/town, and they're in different type... things now. Newbies now get a message when they have a monster ready to explore for the first time. Also there are different monster-hatch messages depending on whether or not you are a newbie. (that whole "take them to the training center" bit was getting really annoying)
Bugs The "max_user_connection" problem appears to have been fixed; time will tell as we grow more popular. Somewhere, somehow, the uploading-avatar script bugged out. So I made my own. Keke, the new layout allowed people to move when they had a fight to face. Fixed!! Arwin had some pretty archaic info for newbies. Oops! Changing form in PvE was really... buggy. So I fixed it. Also made it prettier...

05/22/2009 21:06 | Switching monsters will never be in. It doesn't need to happen, it was buggy anyway, and to top it off, removing it even lightened the load on the server. Besides, the game is easy enough already.
I'm trying to figure out a way to redesign the home page because apparently it is very sloppy. People don't know about the quest log, or switching lineup, or anything. So if anyone has any suggestions, mail me.
Next update will focus FINALLY on content. THE ONLY TWO CHANGINGS THAT SHOULD BE MADE will be EVOLUTION and adding speed to PvP. I know I spend a lot of time fixing shit that should have been already made correctly, but MonBre these days is a lot different than it was over a year ago.
Also: 500 TP to the person who correctly guesses what the silhouette is of for raid mark view. HINT: it's not monbre related.
