Rather than try to come up with a cheesy name for a story I haven't finished writing yet, I'm just going to go with no name for now. At least, until something worth using pops into my head.

So, yesterday, I was at work. I have no idea where it came from, maybe a combination of Valkyrie Profile and Indigo Prophecy (or Fahrenheit). My initial idea was a story where all the main characters were murderers, but had started new lives either by choice or by necessity. How I got from there to what I have in my head now, well...

I can't really guarantee a schedule for this. I feel like I could sit here and write for the next two days o.0 I need to write for MonBre, so I'll be doing that first, but maybe after that I can get one piece done every week. Same idea as with Dear Demi, I'll post my gigantic stuff and clear out the chatter in between to keep things nice.

Note: It's not the worst thing I've ever read, or even the most mature thing I've written, but this story contains the implications of not just sex, but also murder. It will probably only get worse. Well, in the murder part. I doubt there will be much (if any) sex. But anyway! You've been warned!

For half of a second, blessed silence upsets the rhythm of our lives. Then, as quickly as it came, its gone again. Replaced by a voice as rough as sandpaper, repeating his ultimatum to the nameless grunt. Are you going to talk, or am I going to have to make you talk? God, anyone with a brain in their head could predict how this is going to end. Its not particularly complicated. Villain captures his defenseless victim. The rugged anti-hero shoots people, finds the villain, gets the victim back, and everyone lives happily ever after. At least until next week.

Today hasnt been a good day. Like most days, actually. Sarahs a gift I never expected, and if it werent for her.. I dont tell her often enough how much she means to me. How much I depend on her to scrape by from day to day. Id tell her right now, in fact, but I cant interrupt the show. Not that Ive been paying any attention to it... My head is killing me. Theres a pounding at my temples like an army with a battering ram. Two of them, even. My entire body feels strange, but I cant put a finger on it. It just feels... I cant explain how it feels. I dont care, either. I just wish it would stop.

This early? Its not even 8:30, and its still as bright as day out. Still, I wont complain. I was getting tired of watching this anyway.

What? Honey, what are you talking about? I didnt say anything. I dont think I could talk if I wanted to. My lips feel like they belong to someone else, and when I find him, Ill have to punch him for making out with my girlfriend. Still, now shes turning off the tv, and Im alright with that. More than alright, in fact. Im glad that noise is gone. Blessed silence once again, and perhaps a break from our daily routine. Work, tv at least until the sun goes down, sex, sleep. Work again, more tv, sex, sleep. Day in, day out.

So, whats the special occasion? We never go to bed this early. Its not our anniversary, so thats not it... Nevermind, just surprise me. Im yours for the night, mister. And I expect you to make damn good use of the extra time, too!

Her eyes are so green tonight. Theyre shining the way they always do before we get undressed and go to bed. Her hair smells like lavender, and as it frames my face I cant help but remember our first time together. It smelled like lavender then, too. Again, someone elses lips kiss her, her eyes close, and her arms circle his neck. She straddles the strangers legs, then leans back and suggests we move to the bedroom.

How does she expect me to get there? I cant even stand, much less walk. And yet, here I go, taking her hand and leading her to the bed. I kiss her neck, and my hands slide down to pull up her shirt. I bought her this shirt, actually. It looks good on her. Then its off, and Im looking her in the eyes and smiling.

Sarah, you look wonderful as always. I love you with all of my heart. But I dont think I can do this tonight - maybe in the morning. Some rest should perk me right up, if you know what I mean, eh? Im not sure what I was thinking earlier, Ive got a killer migraine. Today wasnt so great. Lets just talk for a while, alright? How was work today?

But nothing comes out. I dont want to spoil the moment. Instead, we continue to undress eachother, and as we tumble into bed the whole world disappears, replaced by the smell of lavender and the softness of her skin. If only my damn ears would stop ringing, then I could enjoy this moment properly...

Good God, Dylan, whatever you did today, you need to do it again. As soon as possible! That was the most amazing... Jesus, its 11:30! Weve never... Tomorrow night, were starting even earlier. Supper at five thirty, bed by seven. We should take it a bit slower, though, and really make it last. Sound like a plan?

What? Oh, yeah, sure, sure. Whatever you say. Fuck, my head...

Oh, while youre out there, can you grab me a glass of water?

I... Out where? Where am I? Everything feels wrong. I need to see a doctor. Of course, not at this time of night, obviously. It will have to wait until tomorrow. If I can make it that far. On the bright side, I get to skip work...

Dylan? Would you mind going back out to the kitchen and grabbing me a glass of water?

Sweetie, Id love to, really, I would, but this isnt our house. We cant just take other peoples things without asking.

Dylan, you dont look so good. Come lay down in bed, Ill get it myself. Ill grab you something to help you sleep, alright? I know youve always hated my grandmothers recipes, but I swear with the Lord as my witness, they do work!

Sure, yeah, laying down would be nice. Let me just ask my body if it would like to co-operate. Or not. Looks like Im going to bed whether I like it or not. What if I dont want to go to bed? I do, but thats not the point! Maybe I want to watch some tv...

Here, this will help you sleep. Just ignore the taste. Oh, and dont worry if youre not feeling better by tomorrow night. It can wait. In fact, Id wait forever to do that again...

And again, that wonderful lavender smell as she pours her grandmothers foul sleeping remedy down my throat...

*****

Shit, what time is it? Theres someone else in my bed. I dont know who she is. Whoever she is, I can tell shes up to no good. I need to get out of here, before she wakes up and... I dont know, does whatever she planned to do when she seduced me. Probably just kill me when she was done, or something nasty like that. Well, I guess it could be worse. Still, shes trouble, and I dont want anything to do with her. At least my headache is finally gone.

Get out of bed. Leave the room. Keep walking, and find the door as soon as possible. Im in the kitchen now. Not the way out. Grabbing a knife, just in case she wakes up. Shit! Shes mumbling something!

Honey, what are you doing? Come back to bed, you wont get any better wandering around the house in the middle of the night.

Oh God. Shes awake. What if she has a gun? This knife isnt going to do me any good. Ill have to do something so shell let me leave...

Dylan? Dylan, what are you doing with that knife? Were you making something to eat in the middle of the night? I cant believe you... Just cant wait until breakfast like normal people. Go finish your snack, whatever it was...

Okay, shes going back to sleep now. Thats good. Wait, what if the doors locked? What if I cant get out, or theres a guard waiting for me? Shell have a key somewhere, I just have to get her to tell me where she is. And if she wont talk, well, Ill just have to force her.

Are you going to talk, or am I going to have to make you talk? I hissed, as menacingly as I could manage.

I... What the fuck are you doing? If this is some kind of twisted roleplaying, its too Goddamn late for that. Wait until tomorrow night, and get that fucking knife away from my throat! she whispered back, her eyes now bright with fear.

Where do I know that look from? Its subtly different, but it reminds me of... Who? No, it must be my imagination. That pendant, though... That I recognize. I bought it a few years back. Did I give it to her earlier? Is she a thief, too? Where did she find it? God, that headache is coming back already...

You feel that? It gets worse until you talk. Dont think I wont do it! Wheres the key? Wheres the next victim? Ashley McMullin, you know her, dont you?

Goddamn you, Dylan, what the fuck are you going on about? What key, what victim? Youre out of your mind! She sighs. Look, Im sure youre just having some king of... Bad dream. A nightmare. Go spend the night with a friend, and come back when youre thinking clearly. I cant trust you right now. I see Ashley and her daughter at work, every weekday, but what does that have to do with anything?

Dont give me that bullshit, I know youre a part of this! Tell him what you know!

Get off of me, and get the fuck out of my house! If theres someone else here, Dylan, Ill-

I always hate this part. If I was being threatened, Id talk. But no, they never talk. Its less exciting that way. So, you have to make them talk, no matter what it takes. Well, sometimes. Sometimes there are better places to get your information. Theres a slight scent of lavender as she struggles for a moment, and then the light in her eyes went out for good.

Why dont they just talk?
