It's 1AM EST here and I'm getting some pretty bad lag, wondering about the rest of you. I'm going to clean up my hosting account to see if it'll like... give us more CPU power or... something.

Also I should clean the DB soon some day eventually when I'm not tired.

edit: (guess it was a lag spike, we went from 18.2 load to 2.88 in the BLINK OF AN EYE)

I've never gotten any lag, it's actually fine for me even when I'm seeding a torrent.

----
But when that call never comes, it's time to face what you've become - there's no point doing all of this, unless you know you're having fun.

How do you do that? How many Mbps is your ISP, since I can't even visit google with uTorrent on...

For the topic, MonBre has never lagged to me

Screw this, I'm going a-back to Italia!

You can set download limits in your torrent client somewhere, so it won't suck up your bandwidth. I'll usually put my bandwidth on "low" if I'm surfing, high if I'm sleeping.

Download limit isn't hugely important, upload is what'll really bottleneck you. I'm not sure my mbps, I know my kbits/s is like 413... Which works out to 35 mb/s recommended uploading speed, although I get like 50 or so when I'm seeding. 35 is what I use when downloading.

uTorrent actually has a thing to show you how to check your speed and set it for the connection you have, I'd advise you to do what it tells you to do.

Damn, here in the kindly-refered "Third World" the maximum we have for households is 3 Mbps... I'll give it a try to the speed thing, not right now since I've no lobger have uTorrent due to Windows being fucked up

How do you know? Chances are your download speed is being affected by your uploading, but you can't really tell without changing it.

I guess that'd depend on your connection though, I just know that shaving off that extra 15 mb/s upload speed has helped my downloads a lot.

Max download speed is a LIE!

My maximum download speed is, oh, 6879 kb/s? Granted, that was for a tiny file that would have downloaded in a minute at most normally, but I can still get that high.

I guess that would depend on your internet, though, or your settings, but I don't see a reason why you would cap your download speeds unless you use a private tracker. Then again, I can't see you uploading high enough to match that, so...

Whatever, I know I have no average/maximum download speed because it depends entirely on seeds/my internet usage aside from torrenting, which is what matters.

It would depend on what/where you download, I guess. I sometimes get band discographies in half an hour, sometimes in two weeks. The curse of being interested in a wide variety of music

That being said, I feel bad for getting so off topic at this point XD I vote we let this topic go.
