May 02nd - 05:40 | *grins* Makes things much simpler. I'm curious, lore-wise, exactly how does that work? Is this some sort of GPS thing or Satnav....

05/02/2009 22:20 | Lore? O.o I suppose I could fit it into the story.
I'll just call it a GPS. I like you.

05/02/2009 22:45 | Hmm, a quest in New Orsa that gives you the compass? That'd be kinda neat.

How about this: All trainers recieve a pair of gloves with various monster necessities, the most obvious to a passerby is the compass on the gloves which tells you where to go but there is other magic in the gloves not visible to the human eye, or something on the lines of that <3

05/04/2009 19:07 | Or like the Poktch in the new Pokmon games!
Poktch being short for Pokmon Watch, and having a bunch of applications of... dubious usefulness. Some are nice, though.

05/04/2009 19:40 | Or we could all stray into the high tech world where we all have neural implants that help us control our monsters and give us info displays either right on our eyes (it seems like that but the information is downloaded straight into our heads) or sent across a display on either some kind of visor or glasses.
That means, probably strength of mobs could be shown, how far and which way to the next town, rumors of items in the area, history of things and mobs already encountered, and links to the available maps of the area. Most of that is already in place in one form or another, it would just be a matter of moving links and renaming a few things.
Or our poor Ingame selves could lug around laptops.
Personally, I think I prefer the idea our GPS is strapped to our wrist or possibly attached to the collar of one of our monsters (the real reason we rush them back to town every time they get KO'd. We don't want to carry the darn things any further than we have to)
