Nov 12th - 16:29:38 PM | I'm finding it increasingly difficult to come up with a proper way to make moves. What I've got currently is that you go to the move-maker and there's a series of drop down lists, and check boxes, and you click away and add values to what you want. So if you wanted an ability that dealt +50% damage, healed 10% of your health, and only costed 10 energy, it would be possible... albeit extremely expensive.
Unfortunately the thing is I can't really think of a way to do this without:
* Spending a RIDICULOUS amount of time coding and BALANCING it * Not achieving even good balance
So I ask - how important is it that you have a custom moves maker? I was thinking, instead, it would act like the TMs in pokemon, with really good moves that could be taught to a single monster, and upon its death, the "TM" would be released from the monster.

I'd rather have the custom weapons IF I was going to have a custom move maker, I'd balance it by having each extra percent damage worth a certain energy, and each % anything else u want worth a certain energy, and have a max energy you can use. This way, there's a max on everything, but you can still mix and match.

Nov 13th - 05:08:27 AM | How about having pre-made moves that the player can set into custom weapons, it's not exactly important having custom moves but It would add extra customibility which players seek in monster 'breeding' games
