Apr 30th - 14:27:28 PM | I'm going to just post a chatlog between me and my friend and you'll see what I mean.
Me: Alright well, right now, you pretty much play the same as everyone else. You get your monsters, you level them up, smush them together, and some work. No biggie, people don't seem to mind it. Me: However, there's a feeling that all your hard work has gone to waste. Me: In a way, it kinda did, but not really, 'cuz the levels make it easier to raise your stats blah blah blah. Me: So my solution to that feeling was that I'd have the trainer be able to splice themselves with the monster, and basically be the substitute for another monster. Me: They wouldn't turn into the monster or anything, they'd just sacrifice a lot of their health. Me: MonBre 2 has health bars and mood bars that give the trainer more of a use. Friend: Me: So now, I just added a new "sell your monster" thing to the hatchery. Me: And I realized. Me: You can, in theory, focus completely on ONE monster, and use all the rest for working. Then, when your ONE monster is ready to be spliced, you splice yourself with it, and depending on how much money and health you sacrifice, the monster will keep most of its stats. So basically the new play style will be using those other monsters as working monsters and then when they're ready to be spliced, 'cuz they're stale, you just sell them back to the hatchery.

May 01st - 10:29:05 AM | Your health and mood are dependant on events and choices you make for your character. This also ties in with the new trainer level, the one that basically mimics the talent tree found in like every game evar. You spend lots of money on luxury food for you and your monsters, and also what you live in, and your mood and health will go up. Along with this, every night at the giant update, it'll take your current mood and happiness and add that much trainer exp to yourself. (so if you have like 80 health and mood, 160 for you)
The trainer level talent tree pretty much *can't* be done now because a lot of awesome things aren't in yet. So one talent will be like, monster and you, and that'll be stuff like making splicing actually enhance their stats, or making it easier on the trainer to splice away with their monsters.
MonBre's gonna be huge, when I'm done with it. xP
