Hi.

I started out with my first monster, have played a bit and got it to level 36 and done a couple of quests. I briefly went to the employment center but got the message "Ekthis wants to explore right now and doesn't want to work"

I therefore assumed that i had to have a backup monster to do the working while my primary one was exploring, so I got on with the game.

When i got some more money (from some quests), i upgraded my barn and hatched a new worker type monster with the view of sending it off to work.

the trouble was, I was getting the message that it was a baby and thus too litle to work. So I took it off to the training center and had it bash sticks until it could be evolved.

The only problem is, now I'm getting the same message "Ekwin does not want to work"

Have I done something wrong in leveling my monsters at the training center if I intended them to work?

If you want a monster for work, should it never train or battle, ---- this wasn't the idea I got from the reference etc but I could well be wrong.

sinse I'm having a bit of a cash flow problem at the moment, any advice would be much appreciated.

thanks in advance.

Well I don't have this problem, my goliath monster is a worker type and mostly works
It just seems your monster must be tired or something

Hmmm, well I tried it now a few hours later and both monsters in fact worked.

While I understand the 8 hour cool down after working, ---- is there a similar one after exploring? and if sso, how long is it?

It shows in the monster's info.

It's six hours after exploring, and working can be lowered by two hours with a skill. On top of that, if your monster does a good job, it gets lowered a bit more, and there are skills to improve the chance of that happening.

I'm not sure about the training center thing - I might have had that same problem before, even though the training center isn't supposed to affect their tiredness. If it doesn't say anything different in their monster page, then I'd say just wait for an hour and try again. That should clear it out.

Thanks, I'll check the info pages for the various monsters.

Wow, that was vague of me.
When you enter the training center you get the monsters' info.
And, if you're in the house there's an option for the monsters' info.
I believe that a work type monster is best for working or it should be.

Worker type monsters have a lower chance of getting hurt, so if all you're going to do is send the monster to work, workers are a good choice.

Plus, they can get started on the harder work sooner.

I started with a normal monster sinse I wasn't sure what to do with it and wanted to explore the various game options, ---- my second was a worker, expressly for working, and it's already beeing sent on the tough jobs.

It got injured on the first couple of assignments, but is doing better now.

IS there a way of knowing when a particular monster is ready for a harder catagory of jobs? I'd rather not get my monsters injured by guessing wrongly.

My plan now is to get 8000 in cash to buy an upgraded barn so that I can get an evil monster. Thus I'll have one constant worker, one constant fighter, and one back up for both.

As I keep geting my rear kicked whenever I head south from silvamed, I do obviously need to improve my combat abilities.

While the train is tempting, it's expensive, and I'm not precisely sure when the free train time is on this side of the atlantic working on Gmt (it's entirely possible that it's at a point where I can only use it via insomnia) ---- and besides, as an exploration fan, I'd much rather walk and slaughter my way there.

I've changed things now:

it will tell you how much is left if you're tired.
babies can work now.

Babies not working was because newbies would send their monsters to explore, but now that we have manual hatching, it's blatantly obvious they should -not- work their monster on its first day. If that wasn't blatantly obvious, I've put up a warning on the selection page anyway. Whew!
