Dec 02nd - 15:41:39 PM | This will be the last update to MonBre until version 2 is released. V2 is set, in my mind, to happen around week 3 of December.
I could code a bit more and update with the race track. I could update with check lists, and everything I said I will. But I'm going to wait until version 2.
I want V2 to be our last stand. As I'm sure a few of you remember, the game was nice in August, but has seen practically an overhaul in many systems, primarily combat and exploring. It wasn't very newbie-friendly, either. All this has changed. I'm going to spend a good amount of time, from now until release, finalizing some things I think will help the newbie experience and yours, too. This means I'm going to add roads to everywhere around Mar' Muras, and I'm hoping the check list makes it clear of the things to do in whatever city you're in.
That being said, there isn't too much going on for non-newbies. There's races, the hospital "fix" and I plan to add about 10 more quests and Propton to the mix.
I plan to release version 2 to you guys, and then early January I'll send the main promotion material out.
Lastly, I'd just like to say this is my last stand. I've said repeatedly I probably should not have made MonBre because of how poor I am IRL, but I guess I'm glad I got really good at coding and at least met some of you.  So I mean I've got quite a few advertising plans, but if it doesn't work out... I can't keep paying $100 a month and working (especially since I wanna get serious about composing music) for a game that simply will just be stagnating. So, if you love MonBre at all, then in early january, or christmas vacation, whichever you feel is best, get the word out! Obviously if you're reading this far, you care, so anything you can do to help would be great. There's too much time put into MonBre for me to just let it fail, but if I'm working on top of a failed formula, then I'll never get anywhere.
Here are the visible updates for what I've done the past week. Keep in mind I've coded tons of other things and had an unwillingly social weekend.

In order to balance the normal type a bit more, I've gone against its own type description and given it +2% more chance to critical in battle.
Finally fixed the health script so mood would be given out correctly in rare circumstances. (in which it wasn't)
Removed "( [hp] left)" when describing battles.

My computer died of a faulty motherboard yesterday, around 7PM. I'm going to have to take MonBre off the dedicated server in order to pay for it... it's really not that bad, seriously, our other server is great, just unreliable.
I estimate to be fully back up and running on Friday. Unfortunately $400 less and I'll likely spend most of that day bringing us to the new (old) server.
I keep saying MonBre was the worst idea I've had, but no, it wasn't. Paying for this god-damned server was. I spent $1,800 on it, and by spent I mean wasted.
Anyway, spread the word if you can. I'd post an announcement, but. So, off I go.

I made a new computer, motherboard was bad. What the fuck else is new!
I'm currently running on a junky computer that was lent to me by a computer dude... tl;dr I'm RMAing the motherboard and the service to the computer shop (because there is no fucking way I'm making a computer ever again) is going to cost, I estimate, $100.
Same applies with the new server. I'm going to back up everything soon enough (once I get my passwords) and move over to the shitty one. I don't know what I'm going to do with MonBre, but it was nice to see in the absence of me for 5 days, still 20 people logged in. I must be doing something right.

Dec 16th - 00:57:44 AM | We are currently experiencing some technical difficulties that I literally can do nothing about until tommorow. I\'ve got a windows update done in an hour and I\'m trying to force myself to stay up by watching zim and working out. So I really can\'t be FTPing in the early morning. Some things you may have noticed:
Cron jobs don\'t work - basically, scripts that run automatically to do things.
PvE and javascript issues.
Edit: Apparently we also make \ when doing '. Sigh. Looks like I have my work cut out for me.
