Dec 16th - 15:17:17 PM | Okay, we're sorta dead.
As some of you know, my PC died about a week ago. This means I haven't had much time to develop monbre, but it also means I had to order a new one. I figured I'd upgrade instead of buying a new mobo for like $150. So I bought a new PC for $400, shipped really fast. Well, I suck at making computers (or the mobo was DoA) and it didn't work. So I'm RMAing it, in total the whole ordeal should cost me $500. I had a safe $600 + spending money before, and I was happy and fine and still making money on ChaCha. I couldn't make much without my computer now, and I missed the pay date by like $40.
Anyway, what I'm getting at is that MonBre is wonderful and we all know it, so it pains me to say I'm going to have to put its development on hiatus now. I spent 1,000 hours of my life and $1,800 of my money and I have gotten hardly anywhere with it. Some insignificant e-fame, sure, and I became an amazing coder, but really I'm trying to move out and get my own life and I can't be spending hours on this as I was before. I'm going to try to get back into freelance web design, and I'll be focusing on another project which will be revealed to you in time, and my music career. (I'll even be taking a music class at college)
I am, however, using hiatus wrong. MonBre won't just stop. And I can guarantee you MonBre won't just die. There's no way I'm letting 1,000 hours of work go to "waste", and if I could, I could never deny all the time spent by my volunteers helping me. CJ in the forums, and especially Sledge Wielder, who without him, we'd have a pretty ugly combat system. I don't know when I'll get MonBre ready for release, but I can tell you I have a huge weight off my shoulders now that I don't "have" to focus on it, or pay $100/month for a server we don't even need. (look around you, is our new server really that bad?)
Because of MonBre, I haven't been able to dedicate much time to my other project, my imageboard I'm going to make (yes I am making a chan) (no it is not a faggot clone) and music. Hopefully ChaCha shapes up because it's my main source of income, even selling legal "drugs" didn't (doesn't) make me much.
Which brings me to the last point of interest in this depressing post... I'm going to see just how much MonBre can make me. I know we don't have a lot of people, or page views, but I want to see if anyone is even bidding on games for advertising with this shitty economy. So I am going to put ads up in places where we get a lot of page views. Please don't block these ads.
I estimate things can get back to normal (and version 2) around March. I don't blame anyone for not playing for a while because not much will be happening. Please note there is a "vacation" mode in your "account" options.
Finally, due to the nature of my other project, I'm going to be working this week on the forum and mail interfaces. (interfaces?)

Edit: And the game will be set back in motion (ticks happening again) probably tommorow when I find out the path for my cron jobs.

Well we'll try to keep it alive, soon i'll have some free ads for you that a lot of people will see so more bidders for your adds if there is more members.
