January 18th, 2009 22:01:52 PM | For the past week, I've seen our active members rise from 13, to 15, to 17, and now it rests at a wonderful 20. I can't blame this rise on advertising or anything, because if we were added to a new directory, it would've been more like 40, 45, and 35.
So this means, that for some insane reason, people like my game. People like Monster Breeder. And now we are not losing people, but it appears that by leaving my game alone for a month, I've actually gained people. (those that don't know, I left due to a dead computer)
The only thing I did during that month was add more features to the forum and mail systems. Probably fixed a few bugs.
Well needless to say, it's sort of inspired me to continue working on this goliath of a game. So you know what? I'm going to!
Introducing... bum buh buh buh... Version 2.
FEATURES THAT AREN'T IN NOW BUT WILL BE AND THEN VERSION 2 WILL BE HERE
- racing
- "things to do" list up to Mar' Muras so people KNOW WTF TO DO IN MONBRE!?!?!
- Probably some general sexing-up of the layout, who knows. I will likely add more cute little icons.
These are the final things I can think of that would keep players around.
So, finally... for advertising... I will use what's in my Project Wonderful account and spend that. I will do it tactically and I will win. So, after getting some people, we'll see. If they stick, then I will be inspired to care more about my game.
Worst case scenario, I have to close it down for a little. There is WAY too much coding behind MonBre for me to just let it die. We can talk more about the death of monbre if it comes time to.
BUT FOR NOW, FUTURE!  Yay, I expect to be done mid-february. So plan some advertising for the grand re-opening of MonBre.

01/19/2009 11:12 | Well little bits of advertising from forum members means that eventually, no matter how small scale some people who come will stick, plus google helps alot for monster breeding fans... Eventually you will get more and more members, only time will tell...
