03/14/2009 22:31 | Did you play the second series of three games? I rented and played each of the first four, but now I'm working on getting through the whole of the first one. Someday. I've played it for two hours so far.
The World Ends With You, a DS game set entirely in the Shibuya district in Tokyo (imagine a place where goths, punks, anime nerds, fashion nerds and just about every other subculture there is smushed together) and actually managing to use that variety well. The game is pretty ridiculous, you use pins to fight, such as telekinesis and pyrokinesis and shooting energy balls out of your hands. You can eat food to increase your stats, you shop, you chase down pigs to get rare pins.
But the design of the game is intensely well done. If there was a game made entirely out of style, albeit a very, very, very japanese style, it'd be The World Ends With You.

I bought an R4 and a 2 gb card nearly a year ago, cost me $80 + shipping from china. Bought an Acekard 2 and a 4 gb card a few months ago due to my R4 crapping out, $25 + shipping.
Yeah.

03/15/2009 19:46 | Yeah, that too. Even before they were officially dead it was hard to get a real one, I got a couple of fakes before getting a real one. Oddly enough, all I had to do was just keep sending them back until luck of the guy-reaching-into-a-big-box-of-R4's-to-resell got me a real one.

03/16/2009 12:37 | The money's not a problem, and I'm sure mine would've lasted a long time, if it wasn't for the way I used it. I would play it pretty much whenever I had time, such as in the middle of an unimportant lecture, and then have to close the lid regardless of what I was doing when I had to start paying attention or whatever. Which is important, because closing the lid while the game is trying to load something is bad.
Long story short, several save files got corrupted, games I played often and which I was usually close to beating would freeze while loading constantly, stuff like that. I got fed up with it and decided I needed a replacement, and now I make sure not to do that anymore, lol.

03/16/2009 13:34 | I'd heard good things about them too, but the price of the Acekard 2 was too nice to pass up. I don't use cheats though, so that's not much of a problem for me. I don't even really use homebrew at all, just a program I found to automatically update your firmware, moonshell in case I ever feel like putting music or something on here, and that's about it actually.
Unlike the PSP, nobody's really made anything worth using for the DS :/
