And this computer makes news reports for each day, detailing events that haven't happened yet. Murders, for the most part.
It also calculates the time individuals have left to live, with the same algorithms it uses to determine the day's events and stuff.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF IT TOLD YOU YOU WERE GOING TO DIE?
Maybe you'd be struck by lightning. Maybe a blizzard would consume your house, and you would be mauled by angry snowmen. Maybe poisonous gas would leak out of your basement and dissolve your face. WHO KNOWS.
What would your response be? This is important in determining who I can count on during the Apocalypse.

07/03/2009 19:40 | I don't think I'm strong enough to live with the thought that I know when I will die... I think I'll keep a gun with myself by all times and when the circumstances start to happen, I'll shot myself and avoid too much pain... I guess.
Edit: Is it a definitive death? That means I cannot die until then, right? So I would Rambo my way through life... which may get me in a state of coma until the day of my death, but who knows; I might be a little less careful

Frank: No, that's not 100% how it works. The future isn't set in stone, all it takes is one deviation from the currently expected results to change everything.

07/07/2009 13:20 | Ah, so you're telling me that this machine tells me: You are going to die X day at X time"? And then it only gives me the events of that very day, for example: "Plane Crashes; Lottery Winning; Murdered convicted to death; etc" ?
And you have to guess which ones you're involved? And if you change things to avoid being in those situations another person will take your palce and you'll die in another occasion?

07/07/2009 21:51 | Yup, that's the gist of it! It doesn't tell you the time, it just tells the day. So it might say "four teenagers killed while hanging out!" and it'd probably be in your best interest to not hang out with people that day.
