I haven't played yet that...
I'll probably try it.. Sounds good, I hope it's got a great soundtrack like TWEWY

Oh yeah, the soundtrack is really nice. It's made by the game's composer, aside from the main theme and maybe one other song kinda thing, so obviously it is a little different. TWEWY was almost all licensed from random japanese pop artists, to give it an authentic feel. But it's still nice, I downloaded both P3 and P4's soundtracks, lol.

It's a lot more about the little things than TWEWY was, it was a lot more action and flashy graphics than Persona 4. Persona 4's a dungeon crawler combined with high school, so, obviously the pacing is different. But you can sit down and suddenly have gone through a month in the game without moving at all, I've done that lots : P

tl;dr: Different kind of game, still very nice in all respects.

So is that a DS game? Sounds like a PSP/PS2 game but I'll go check my favourite romsite and 'try before I buy'

Yeah, it's a PS2 game. Chances are your computer won't be able to handle PS2 emulation, unless you've got a wicked fast processor. It's definitely do-able, but chances are you'd rather play Fallout 3 or Far Cry 2 if your computer's that good.

I can manage to play FFX quite slowly :/

I'll not try emulating it. I do remember that there was a game that had a name like that where you could turn into a monster or something...

Kinda. Your party members have their own specific "Personas" which evolve during the story/during their little event chain (story for P3, social link level for P4), and then you start with one and can gain more. P1 and P2 let you negotiate with the enemies and things like that and get them as your Personas, but in these last two you haven't been able to do that.

Did I mention that you have social links, which are basically just how close you are with your various friends you meet, which power up your Personas? That's kinda a big part of the game XD

I haven't played many of the other Shin Megami Tensei games, since they're hard to find if you don't buy them right away :/ Atlus doesn't make any more copies than they know they can sell, which kinda sucks. But they're also awesome and their translations are extremely good. So I forgive them.

There's a small version of the soundtrack included with Persona 4, but chances are it'll still be in there. It didn't come with a fancy box or artbook like P3 did, so no worries about missing out on that.

It's nice that Atlus tosses in freebies like that, but it sucks when you have to get them used because they're never there, and the games always end up being rare so you tend to get them used. Oh well.

I know... There's some unappreciated games out there that mean they get rare...

The other problem is that they don't know how many they can sell. Past experience would indicate that people often have to resort to getting the games used, but they're better off having a rare game they can possibly remake some day than having a hundred thousand unsold games laying around.

That's the real problem with games coming mostly out of Japan. I honestly doubt american/european games end up rare in Japan. I really do.

Paper Mario is a good series though. The first rpg one by Squaresoft wasn't a paper mario game though, was it? That one's good too.

I know, but they made a Mario RPG for the SNES, Legend of the Seven Stars? I just don't remember if it was Paper Mario or not.

This was the age of the SNES, and they were popular at the time, and popular because of it. It was an excellent game. Let me go look up the date.

March 1996 in Japan, May 1996 in NA. Never released in Europe until last year on the Wii's Virtual Console, which would explain why you never heard of it XD

But yeah, it was good. Google it, shouldn't be too hard to track down.

Yup, Squaresoft made lots of sweet games back in the day. I hate emulating things on my computer though, it's so much more engaging with a controller in my hand :/ That, and my attention's more focused on the game, instead of being like hey I should google this thing!

I used my PS3 controller to play games for a while, but that got kinda old too. I guess I just can't appreciate old games unless they're re-released for the DS XD

I emulate games on my PSP.
It emulates almost every previous game system to it's release

If only I had a memory card for mine...

I'd only use it for PSP emulation, but the problem with that is switching around the firmware for different games :/ I've only got a handful of games I really need to play, so I'm just not bothering with it and borrowing them from people if at all possible.

Playing Crisis Core requires 4.1 or something if I remember right, and then Patapon was lower than that, and then there was Jean D'arc (possibly Jeanne? It was a sweet strategy rpg anyway) somewhere else along the line, and I forget what else I wanted to play. I didn't want to switch around my firmware just to play stuff :/

Oh, 4.1 might've been Final Fantasy: Dissidia. Even though it's not out in english. But it's a lot easier to play a japanese fighting game than it is to play a japanese rpg, so, I can see why people would give it a shot.
